A few months back, we told you about our new company-wide challenge called the healthy initiative. Each month, our team members have been encouraged to take part in a specific activity related to health and wellness. During the month of November, we put a special twist on this wellness program, challenging our team members to give back to our local community by volunteering at our local food pantry.
For the past couple of weeks, several of our team members have taken some time to serve at Peter’s Pantry, a supplemental food pantry that distributes perishable and non-perishable food items to families in our community who might otherwise go without. Our Roydan team members have helped sort food items and have assisted pantry visitors in shopping for food for their family. In addition, we have also been doing our part by collecting over 300 food items to help stock the pantry’s shelves.
“It really is eye opening to see the need that is out there,” notes Megan Manis, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “It feels great to help people who are struggling. They are so thankful for things we often take for granted,” she adds. At a time of year when most people are gathering around the table to celebrate with family and friends, it is easy to forget that there are people right around the corner who are not sure where they will be getting their next meal.
We have so much for which to be thankful here at Roydan. We appreciate our valued customers, our amazing Roydan family and the fact that we have the time and the means to lend a helping hand in our community. We would like to challenge each of you to take some time this busy holiday season, and in the coming year to look for opportunities that you can also lend a helping hand and make a difference in your community.
Happy Thanksgiving, from all of us here at Roydan.
